8/2/26 – Got a text from Lindsey: a screenshot of a Nextdoor post of some lady holding Bapu, he was following her so she took him home. I called the number on the post and confirmed that it was Bapu, she said she'd "put him back where she found him." I'm adding this to the cat call tracker, even though I was the one who placed the call.

5/27/26 – Bapu wasn’t home by 8pm so we drove down to the usual corner where he’d last been seen. He must have heard our car because we saw him running across the grass, tail up, and into the road. 5/22/26 – Received three phone calls from folks at Dominican about Bapu. The third, at 6:36, came as we were actually driving by the caller. 5/21/26 – Received two phone calls from folks at Dominican about Bapu. The second call was pretty funny, “Hi your cat is here, he just caught a mouse… now he’s rolling on it…” He’s been hanging out down there often and always returns before we get home from work. But he wasn’t home by 5pm so we walked down to Dominican to find him. Took a little bit of wandering but then we heard a meow and he came bounding up to us, rolled over at our feet. He was very near his last known location. So we walked back home with him (combination of him trotting beside us and us carrying him). Took a while, he kept getting distracted and he took a rest under a car for awhile. It was .5 miles! Next time we have to retrieve him we’ll definitely take the car.
